We stayed overnight with Don's sister and brother-in-law's in their "snowbird" condo. Odd, they just arrived from Montana for the warm New Mexico weather. What were they thinking? A massive road closure due to black ice at mile post 72 on I-10 forced a diversion to Devine, TX rather than Laredo.
8.5 hour drive.

Somehow the weather was not as warm as we expected for Las Cruces, New Mexico.
